Your theme switcher does not seem to be working correctly. I set the theme I wanted to use in my profile but when I go to the home page (portal), the theme resets to the dragon theme. Sometimes when I go to the forums, the theme resets itself, but at other times it allows me to use the theme I chose.

Hi , this has to do with maintainence mode . When I am modifying the forums ie adding more themes or message icons then I must switch to the default SMF core image theme . This disables the theme switcher but may allow the dragon soul theme which is this site default . I did post a NEWS announcement that I am upgrading the forum currently . I am sorry for the inconvenience but I feel the upgrades are worth it . Thanks for the note though .

I also found that the home page of the forum (not the site ) remains set at the default but if you click forum and enter the boards you will be in the theme you selected except when it has been turned off as noted above . Thanks for bringing this up , this is a relatively new SMF feature and I doubt that any  of us are truly up to speed on all of it yet . So your question will help others .

I have a different question:  My page is always set to 'pagan' when I come in, which is too dark for me to see anything, and when I change it, if I leave and come back it's set back to 'pagan'  again.   Is there any way to change it permanently, or is it a forum default for everyone?

Site Default
Hi ,  Admin  must set a default theme . I chose Midnight Oceam originally but it would not work with TP .

For TP use , I  chose DragonSoul for the default and for the week of St.Patrick's Day ,Pagan  .

When in maintainance mode ,the members will not be able to switch themes but that mode is only in use a few hours at a time upon occasion. Even when I change ie a  holiday theme , users should be able to override the default unless in  a temp maintenance mode . Please forgive me for not making this clearer . I hope this will help all members to choose their own default theme .

I am also happy to upload most suggested  SMF themes if  these  work with our version . So if you see something you like let us know ;

Preview
The member will normally be able to coose from  that  long and growing list which they would like to preview . But that is impermanent ie whenever the users refresh the cache or reload the window,  the site default will show again . It is a one use or preniew mode only .

After a view has been selected members can change their own default theme which will then not change without admin reset except during maintainance mode .

Member Choiice Default
1. Click PROFILE
om the top toolbar between" Search" and "My Messages"
2, Locate MODIFY  PROFILE  on the left column , browsing that section
3.Click Look & Layout Preferences
4. Locate CURRENT THEME  in the top of the right or central panel
5. click CHANGE
6.click  USE THIS THEME
That should set your own default

Have you tried the default SMF, Tropical & Starlight ? These are very light ones on the river themelist now;

Hi:  I hate to be whiny, but this sudden screeching is getting on my nerves.  As cute as it was for Hallowe'en... well, you know.  Is it possible to switch it back, possibly to a nice fall theme?  Thanks!

There is a mute button at the top of the Haunted Theme near the tune selection ie Monster Mash and Nightmare before Xmas ~This is Halloween ".

The Default theme is in place again . And ...

Several new themes have been added !
To Change your profile
Click  Profile
Click Look & Layout Preferences
Click Current Theme (change)
Scroll Down
Select
Click use this theme

And you can use the Switch  Themes box to preview themes without making a change to your profile .

The Halloween Haunted Theme is disabled , if you are still seeing it , please refresh .


You might have to clear the cache in IE .

The core sMF theme has everything available currently. No other themes will have the arcade button which is relatively new still


Some do not have Tiny Portal
so the left column , Shout Box and Skin/theme changer Box will disappear

If you choose to preview one just hit the green back arrow in FireFox to return to the default theme with a theme changer box .
