I found this really interesting. I recommend starting at the beginning and just going to the "Next" link on each page. Apparently, this was originally a slide show presentation, so that's the way they set it up on the web.

Oh, and for me, it's not a question of "belief" or "disbelief". I just found it to be a really interesting read, with lots of food for thought and good information on various archetypes of goddess. Thought I'd pass it on for other folks who might be interested in that sort of thing. :)

When I studied Theology at Notre Dame in Fremantle , Western Australia we were taught radical ideas by our teacher who was a globally travelled nun with 2 PhDs . She taught us about the removal of the Divine Feminine too,back in 1999.

She showed us that the Holy Bible;

1.Has 2 Genesis stories in one Man and Woman are made at the same time , in the other Eve is made from the rib of Adam

2.God is plural form here, the Bible clearly says OUR

19The women added, “When we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, did not our husbands know that we were making cakes like her image and pouring out drink offerings to her?”

20Then Jeremiah said to all the people, both men and women, who were answering him, 21“Did not the Lord remember and think about the incense burned in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem by you and your fathers, your kings and your officials and the people of the land? 22When the Lord could no longer endure your wicked actions and the detestable things you did, your land became an object of cursing and a desolate waste without inhabitants, as it is today. 23Because you have burned incense and have sinned against the Lord and have not obeyed him or followed his law or his decrees or his stipulations, this disaster has come upon you, as you now see.”

24Then Jeremiah said to all the people, including the women, “Hear the word of the Lord, all you people of Judah in Egypt. 25This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: You and your wives have shown by your actions what you promised when you said, ‘We will certainly carry out the vows we made to burn incense and pour out drink offerings to the Queen of Heaven.’

“Go ahead then, do what you promised! Keep your vows! 26But hear the word of the Lord, all Jews living in Egypt: ‘I swear by my great name,’ says the Lord, ‘that no one from Judah living anywhere in Egypt will ever again invoke my name or swear, “As surely as the Sovereign Lord lives.” 27For I am watching over them for harm, not for good; the Jews in Egypt will perish by sword and famine until they are all destroyed. 28Those who escape the sword and return to the land of Judah from Egypt will be very few. Then the whole remnant of Judah who came to live in Egypt will know whose word will stand—mine or theirs.

29“‘This will be the sign to you that I will punish you in this place,’ declares the Lord, ‘so that you will know that my threats of harm against you will surely stand.’ 30This is what the Lord says: ‘I am going to hand Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt over to his enemies who seek his life, just as I handed Zedekiah king of Judah over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the enemy who was seeking his life.’”
4. In Genesis the Hebrew says Elohim created . Elohim is the Divine Mother and Father and/or the Angels

And She showed us a reference to a female  apostle Junia in the Bible in Romans!

Wisdom Sophia, Divine Feminine.Over my bed, I have an art quality print of Sophia (who also has other Sacred Feminine traits such as the dove, chalice, a pregnant belly, crescent moon symbol, crown of stars, etc.). I read today somewhere the Golden Dawn perpetuates us women as being subservient, lower, passive , weaker, and evil. I hope that isn't true that GD still does this and I feel that society did it long before GD was created so they may be villified without cause.

But I was talking to Robert Bruce about this years ago. I do not see or feel that the Hermetic elements are correctly described. I feel air is female and positive . He shrugged and said it made sense .But we had a good natured debate on whether air or fire was a higher vibration.

In years of meditation my magician peers and I have learned again and again from so many different teachers that the energy body is like this;

The Goddess We Have...
A tertiary educated society should not be capable of consuming the dogma of an ignorant ancient people who seeking to subjugate women as cattle, tore down the Asherah Poles, extinguished the candles lit to the Queen of Heaven and beat the women who prayed to The Goddess. 
 
She is, always has been and ever will be. She never died. She was never divorced from a jealous God. She still cries for her children who live in such poverty and she still whispers in our dreams. 
 
She is the ineffable womb of Barbello, the ancient Great Mother rocking our primordial cradle in Africa, the Queen of Heaven, the left hand pillar and the Goddess that God never did divorce. She was not forgotten in the sacred Vedantic texts but she was maliciously erased from the contrived and heretical texts of the Semitic tribes who lied that God was jealous and angry when neither he nor she was. 
 
And yet learned people still accept the pablum of a few illiterate impoverished flea bitten camel driving uncivilised ancient chauvinists who wandered angrily through the desert's dust. It is not an old wive's tale it is a far worse malignant growth. And we can not endure it anymore. I have become allergic to it. By now, you should be too. 
 
This is not a legacy we should look forward to giving to our progeny. It is not an honourable tradition that we carry nobly onward. Defeminization of Godhead and the demonisation of the Divine Feminine, is an onerous curse. It is a grievious burden which is responsible for the oppression of women and children through the centuries and which even now causes more than 68% of living women and children to suffer poverty. Let it go. 
 
Come Goddess and manifest for us some divine chemo therapy to eradicate this cancer from our minds , hearts, souls and spirits. Help our sons to love their daughters too. 
 
Men are not morally superior, they are not morally equal peers , they are morally inferior. Male parents abandon their children more than women, violent crimes are committed by more men than women, prisons fill with more men than women,men start and perpetuate wars more than women. Testosterone made their muscles and might but we taught them to be bullies. 
 
Women have the greater influence as parents and teachers. We need to become better parents and educate a new generation of sons and husbands and fathers. We need to change this pattern of inequity because men are incapable of making that change.
 
Men have a horrible track record of greed and chauvinism. Men gave freed slaves the right to vote before women. Men gave free education to male slave children before free education was given to "free" white girls.
 
If today's men can not see , we must make them see. If they cannot feel, we must make them feel. If they can not hear the cries of the poor and oppressed , then we must make them hear.
